NUNS T0 ADD 2 MORE SECTIONS TO MONASTERY

Carmelite Institution to Be Five-Sixths Complete With Additions.

Plans to construct two more sec-| tions to the Carmelite Monastery, 2402 Cold Springs Road, to make it] five-sixths complete, were an-| nounced yesterday. Work is to begin next spring on a| large public chapel and an 80- foot |

high monastery tower to house | chimes. J. Edwin Kopf, architect, | said the nave of the chapel will be} 24 feet wide, 80 feet long, and hoe) ceiling will be 30 feet high. The entrance vestibule will be 2 feet wide and 16 feet long.

Grille Wall Partition

The sisters choir (chapel), which| will be constructed in the chapel section. will be separated from the public by a grille wall. It will be 24| feet wide, 40 feet long. and 20 feet high. The chapel section also will| contain a chapter room 19 feet by 31 feet. The ground story section will con- | tain the Tower of Our Lady rising above the crenelater walls and tur-| rets with the chimes announcing the hours of devotions. In that section, too, will be the new kitchen and refectory. Mr. Kopf said that with the completion of next vear's program. only a small section will remain to be built to complete the structure as originally planned.

Outside of Stone

The architecture of the new sections will match the early oe esque of the buildings already com- | pleted. The outside will be of stratified stone from the Ft. Thomas. Ky, quarries on the Ohio River and the interior of Bedford stone. | The monastery was founded here in 1932 and was dedicated Oct. 2 of that year by the late Most Rev. Jos-| eph Chartrand, Bishop of the Indi-| anapelis Catholic Diocese

results show that the modern educational campaign against tuberculosis has removed much of the old ignorance and fear of the "white plague.” While many persons still apparently do not know that it is caused by a bacillus or that is a contagious disease, nevertheless the great majority think it is curable and name the type of treatment which most doctors consider correct— plenty of rest and nourishing food. The survey reveals that tuberculosis is one of the major diseases about which, in recent vears, the public has come to have a fairly adequate knowledge. Five questions were asked in the | survey. PENNSY RAILROAD SUED FOR $500,000

A suit asking judgment of $500,-

11000 from the Pennsylvania Rail-

road was filed today in Federal Court by Robert Taylor of Indianapolis, described in the suit as a tax expert. The sum is that owed Mr. Tay-

lor, it is alleged, for his services

in informing the railroad that their property in “certain Indiana counties” was being overtaxed. Isaac Born, father of Ferdinand Born, Mr. Taylor's local attorney, said he understood the half-mil-lion was the amount due Mr, Taylor “and others” as their share of a tax refund won from the Government by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Taylor is also represented by Joseph R. Roach and Edward M. Keating, Chicago attorneys.
