JANE JORDAN-—

EAR JANE JORDAN—Last Christmas I met a young lady in her home town and we have been very good friends until recently. Some young fellows I knew got hold of her address and informed her of everything I was doing through letters. The truth wasn't so bad, but these bovs also lied to her about my going on drunken parties and so on. She nagged me about it until it. became unbearable and I finally told her to take her choice between believing me or them. If was over a month before she answered, when a brief letter placed the blame on me and she returned a small gift I had given her. Several weeks later when visiting in her home town I overheard a conversation involving her name. A fight followed in which 1 gave the fellow who made the remark what he deserved. Later her mother asked me to come over and have a talk with her. She said she thought a lot about me and had no objections to my going with her daughter, She said I had done the proper thing and that her daughter appre= ciated the fact that I stood up for her. Since then I have received but one letter from the girl which I answered. There has been no reply. You probably will say for me to find some other girl. I've already tried that as a solution to my problem, but it just won't work. I have turned to you as a last resort. UNSIGNED,
