Parity Payments, Export Subsidies’ Influence Constructive.

CHICAGO, June 23 U. P).= Wheat worked higher on the Chi= cago Board of Trade today under the stimulus of less favorable crop news from the spring wheat area and reports of large flour sales in the Southwest, At the close wheat was up 1% to {1% cents, July 69%; corn was up x to 7% cent, July 4815, and oats % to % cent higher, July 31%. Developments in Washington on appropriations for export subsidies |and parity payments also had a [constructive influence, Wheat opened steady to firm. and early buying was encouraged by private advices of substantial sales of flour in the Southwest. Hedge | selling reversed the trend, after initial gains of 12 cent had been registered, but renewed buying again pushed prices upward. Private reports on spring wheat {were less favorable. The weather [map showed mostly clear weather in [the grain belt. Local showers and cooler was the forecast for Kan- , Nebraska and the Dakotas. Export business of 300,000 bushels lof Manitobas wae reported. And a little American hard winter wheat in store on the continent was sold, Corn prices dipped to new seasonal lows at the start, but subse= quently firmed on buying by cash interests, and some commission house demand reflecting strength in wheat. Cash interests sold 80,000 bushels of corn. Local grain receipts included 21 cars of wheat, 114 cars of corn, and {26 cars of oats.
