NEW YORK, June 13 (U. P.).— Be natural, girls, if you would be beautiful. The glamour girl is losing out to her sister who tries to do no more than develop her own personality along the lines of nature's handi-
work. That's straight from the feedbox. ft is the studied opinion of John Robert Powers, who perhaps knows no peer in the business of merchandising beauty which in turn advertises cigarets, breakfast, ‘food, apparel and the unending list of goods to which the public taste and

money might be turned by the sight of .a pretty face and figure. Mr. Powers has about 400 models at his beck and call, of whom one in four is rated the ne plus ultra of modeling. His “long-stemmed American beauties” have held the modeling spotlight = since they grabbed it back in the early Twenties. “Nature has done a very good job,” the model mogul who looks like a maturing halfback and has shaggy black eyebrows said today. “Every girl should try to develop herself not on any conventional lines but to bring out her own per-
4 sonality. She should cameo her best points and make the composite as complete as she can.”
The cry from businessmen who go to Mr. Powers for pretty girls
to peddle their products is for the model who looks like herself instead of like a freshly shellacked and bedizened bqdy that police said had been in the water for several days. Here are some of the suggestions that the dealer in feminine allure made as he gazed down from his office on that segment of Park Ave. that is as classy as a Powers model: Lift your head out of your
shoulders and your shoulders out of your hips. Dress your hair so it is the frame for the picture that is your face. The more interesting your face, the less you need worry about your hair.
Wear clothes that give your body a chance to develop itself naturally. Let your eyebrows take their own course as long as they don’t distort the contour of your face. Watch
