Attributed to Technical Factors at N. Y.

| Am {Am B

NEW YORK, June 8 (U. P). Stocks sold off fractions to than a point in quiet dealings today after displaying a mixed tone in the early trading. The setback was attributed to technical factors. U. S. Steel slumped to 455%, off 13%. and then steadied around the 48 mark in midsession. It had opened: at 48%. Bethlehem and others in the: group were down major Chrysler opened at 70! then dropped to 69!;. It steadied; just above that level in the fourth hour. General Motors was down a minor fraction. Douglas Aircraft, International Nickel and Westinghouse Electric lost almost a point each Bonds eased irregularly in a dull forenoon session. Domestic corporation loans registered early losses extending to almost a point, with light selling centered in the rail group. Industrials were quiet and egular. U. S. Government bonds established losses of 1-32 to 5-32 point at the opening and steadied around those levels through the early dealings. Curb stocks were easier today under pressure of light liquidation in pivotal shares.

Losses in most cases were limited

to fractions. However, Individual weakness in Gulf Oil sent the issue down more than a point. Aluminum Co. of America also declined over a point ii ‘th in the odd lot group.
