Economic Welfare Branch Seeks to Learn Whether | Agencies Overlap.
Times Special | LAKE MAXINKUCKEE, June 2.| —A survey of relief in Indiana will be one of next year’s major projects] for the ‘economic welfare depéartment of the Indiana League of Women Voters. The study plan was drawn up alt | a two-day conference of league de- | partment chairmen vesterday at the summer ‘cottage of Mrs. Richard Edwards, Peru. A panel presentation of the findings in ‘each of the state leagues will be the culmination of the relief survey. Provision was made also at the conference for ‘complete programs and adequate sources for the ‘other departments of the organization. Mrs. Edwards, program co-ordina- | tor ‘expressed the state league's attitude by saying, “The league feels that it is important to gather, in an authoritative ‘manner, facts which are available in regard to relief be-| ing given in both public and private agencies to determine whether they overlap, whether the greatest needs are met and whether certain forms of distribution be ‘discontinued or ‘made permanent “We should find out,” Mrs. Edwards said, “‘t6 what ‘extent ‘our svstem of relief is consistent idea of govern- |
