ABOARD ROYAL PILOT TRAIN,

May 24—A Queen's influence in two days changed the whole outlook of thousands of women in Quebec and Montreal. The truth is that welcomed her as soon as they saw her serene, happy face, they were French Canadians; they were extremely tactful, charmingly courteous, but there was—I sensed it myself—a critical, careful, attitude that said clearly: “Yes, we know she’s Queen. And so, without doubt, too. “We are glad that see us. We have been a very beautiful Queen, The “but” was varied in and definiteness. The reasons for it were, possibly, as varied—I don’t know How she did it I don’t know women have been fortunate enough to travel ahead and await her coming, have learned that miracles still happen. She has completely altered the preconceived ideas the majority of the American women correspondents held Britain's Queen a new fashion of the place of the old, She has also—ves, even in a few days—recreated a fashion, a fashion the women of our modern age had almost forgotten. It is described in one quite old word, a word our grandmothers used to use, a word we on this continent might have laughed at so short a time ago. Gentlewoman! That 1s the word, and there you have it

She is deter mijtied that her children shall be educated in the finest sense oi the word. She has influenced the world of fashion by the style of her clothes. their color, her hair dressing—even Parisians admit that the amazing revolution the Queen has effected is sweeping their world.
