BOONVILLE, May 4 (U. P). — Circuit Judge Union W. Youngblood today will sentence Herb Harrison, convicted yesterday of assaulting Katie Henzel, his 54-year-old spinster employer. = A jury deliberated 35 minutes before it returned the guilty verdict. Conviction carries a possible term of from 5 to 25 years.

‘SERVE YOURSELF’ BOOTLEGGER IN JAIL

— —— | CAMBRIDGE, Mass, May 4 (U.| P).—A “bedside bootlegger” who | never bothered to get out of bed | while his customers took their goods from the top of & dresser, today had been sent to jail for 30 days. It was easy business for Albert Dugas, 34, of Lowell. Police said workers en route to their jobs early in the morning would drop into his room for their liquor. All Dugas! bothers to do was to hold a flash- | light on his customers and collect their money. “Why should I get up?” Dugas asked police. “They come in at all hours.”

warehouses. Nine hundred families, totaling about 3000 persons, were dropped from direct relief May 1. Emergency Relief Administrator E. J. Sausen said $50,000 had been cut from his funds. A committee of five claiming to represent the WPA Unemployment Division of the United Automobile Workers Union (C. I. O. said they had organized 750 of these families. Ed Weber, picket committee spokesman, said the relief office would be picketed in what he termed a “death watch” until these demands were met: Relief of at least 15 cents per meal per person; removal of Flint City Manager James Pollock “for antiunion activities and disinterest in relief problems”; restoration of 500 WPA workers, recently dropped.
