trestle near her New Albany home after a violet picking hike. Two were killed when kerosene they poured into a fire in the kitchen stove exploded at their farm home in White County near ‘Wolcott. The explosion victims were Betty Jane Rayburn, 11, and her sister, Frances, 4, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Rayburn. Mother in Yard Yesterday Mrs. Rayburn told authorities she was hanging clothes in the yard when she heard an explosion. extinguished the flames which had enveloped the girls clothing and summoned help to take the children to a Lafayette hospital, but both died today. The trestle is a 100-foot span, about 15 feet from the ground. When the train bore down on them, Betty Bolser, 9, lay between the track and the outside of the structure. the knee where the train wheels pinched the skin against the rail. Susie Paris, 12, sister of the victim, and Catherine Walls, 10, climbed over the structure's edge and hung below to ties. Louise was hit by the train as she made a belated effort to jump. The train crew ran back as soon as the train had stopped and rescued the three girls.

MUNCIE, May 2 (U. P.).—Benton I. Thomas, of near Alexandria, was killed here last night when he was struck by a Big Pour train as he was walking down the railroad Sas. He was 72.
