DEATHS IN INDIANAPOLIS

Eldon A. Shively

Funeral services for Eldon A. Shively, who died Sunday, were to be held at 2:30 p. m. today at the Kregelo and Bailey Funeral Home. Burial was to be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Shively, who was 54, had lived in Indianapolis for 30 years. He died at his home, 1809 Central Ave. He was a clerk in the Federal dispersing office here for three years, and previously had worked for the Keyless Lock Co. for 13 years. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry K. Holden, and his mother, Mrs. Ida Shively, both of Indianapolis; and four sisters, Mrs. Lacey Stoner, Holly Bluff, Miss.; Mrs. Robert Longdon, Greencastle; Mrs. John Myers, Red Oak, Iowa, and Mrs. William Hutchison, Louisville, Ky.

James F. Sheeley

James F. Sheeley, retired miner and Indianapolis resident since 1921 died yesterday at his home, 2034 N * Keystone Ave. He was 70. Services will be held at 2 p tomorrow at the church. Burial will be at Floral Park. Mr. Sheeley is survived by his wife, -Julia Ann; four daughters, Mrs. Lula Rice, Mrs. Lila Thomas, Mrs. Celesta Gates and Mrs. Nola Thaxton, and a brother, Charles Sheeley, Sturgis, Ky.

William D. Dockter

‘Funeral services for William D. Dockter, meat cutter, who lived in Indianapolis for nearly 30 years, will be at 2 p. m. today in the University Park Christian Church and burial will be at Anderson. Mr. Dockter, who was 75, died Sunday at his home, 4217 Baltimore Ave. He was a native of Chesterfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jennie Dockter; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Wise, and two nephews, Howard and Horace Wise.

Mrs. Anna Goodwin

Mrs. Anna Goodwin, for 47 years| a resident of Indianapolis, will be buried in Floral Park Cemetery following services at 2 p. m. tomorrow | in the home of her daughter, Mrs. | George Kern, 1410 Laurel St. Mrs. Goodwin, who was 81. had] been ill for three months at her daughter’s home where she died Sunday. She was born in Boone| . County, near Lebanon and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kern and Mrs. William Meeker; two sons, Ora and Harvey Goodwin, and three grandchildren, all of Indianapolis.

Mrs. Mary Gray McKee

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Gray McKee, wife of Homer MecKee, former Indianapolis advertising and newspaper man, will be held at 1 p. m. today at Kokomo and burial will be at Galveston. She died yesterday in Chicago. Mr. McKee is vice president of ~the Erwin-Wasey Advertising Agency, Chicago, and formerly was| vice president of the U. S. Adver-| tising Corp.,, New York. At one time he owned the Homer McKee Co., Inc. Indianapolis, an advertising concern.

James Donahue

Funeral services for James Donahue, chief boiler inspector for the State Industrial Board, are to be at 8:30 a. m. tomorrow in the Speaks & Finn Funeral Home and at 9 a. m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial is to be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Donahue died Sunday at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was 71 and lived at 547 Dorman St. His only immediate relative surviving is a sister, Mrs. Nellie Corrigan, Indianapolis.

Frederick R. Kautz

Frederick R. Kautz, president of the Kautz Stationery Co. died last night at his home, 4059 N. Pennsylvania St. He was 74 and had been ill for two years. Mr. Kautz was borh in Dora, Wabash County, in 1864, and was graduated from Butler University in 1887. He organized the stationery company in 1909 and was active head of it until two years ago when he retired because of illness. The company address is 116 N. Pennsylvania St. He was formerly a member of the Butler board of directors. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, the Portfolio Club, the Players Club and the Indianapolis Literary Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Moffat Kautz; a daughter, Miss Katharine Iden Kautz; a son, John Iden Kautz, and a grandson, John Iden Kautz Jr. Services will be held at 10 a. m. John B. Gorman

John B. Gorman, 6364 Guilford Ave. a clerk at the State Road Letting Department, died today at the Veterans’ Hospital after a month's illness. He was 46. Born at Wheeling, W. Va, Mr. Gorman was assistant postmaster at Bloomfield before entering the World War. He later operated a restaurant at Bloomfield and moved to Indianapolis about 15 years ago. He was a member of the Bloomfield Methodist Church and the Bloomfield Post American Legion. Services will be held at 2 p. m. {Thursday at Bloomfield and burial will be there. Mr. Gorman is survived by his wife, Lavera; two daughters, La{vera and Mary J; a sister, Mrs. | Viola Sumner of McEwen, Tenn., land a brother, George, Indianapolis.

Mrs. Lillian Mae Piper

Mrs. Lillian Mae Piper died today at her home, 307 N. Euclid Ave. She was 63. A resident of Indianapolis 32 years, Mrs. Piper and her husband, George A. Piper, had lived at the Euclid Ave. address 20 years. She was born in Wayne County and was a member of the Grace Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband; two sons, William and Albert, and a sister, Mrs. Olivia Shaffer of New Lisbon, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at the home. Burial will be at New Lisbon.

‘Mrs. Stella J. Wharton

Mrs. Stella J. Wharton died today at her home, 1244 E. Washington St. She was 58. Mrs. Wharton, who had been ill since last November, was born in Shelby County, moving here 27 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Homer; a son, Denzil Oldham, Indianapolis; a daughter, Alma E. Rider, Los Angeles; her grandfather Henry D. Pollard, Fairland; two sisters, Mary Bernhardt, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Nora Cox, Boggstown, and three brothers, George F., Oscar and Robert F. Pollard, Indianapolis. Services will be at 1 p. m. Thursday at the Moore & Kirk Mortuary in Irvington. Burial will be at Boggstown.

Mrs. Rosa Ruff, Indianapolis resident nearly all her life, died today at City Hospital after a five weeks’ illness. She had been living at 439 N. Fulton St. Born at Tipton, O., Mrs. Ruff was 72. She was a member of Mayer Chapel Presbyterian Church and had been active in the Daughters of Pocahontas. Services will be held at 2 p. m Thursday at the Lauck Mortuary and burial will be at Crown Hill Mrs. Ruff is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carl Bogardus; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Clara Saunders; a sister, Mrs. May Heinrich of Miami, Fla., and a brother, Fred Dehner.
