STEEL RATES STEADY i
IN GHIGAGO DISTRICT
CHICAGO, April 24 (U. P).— Steel ingot production in the Chicago district remained at 53.5 per cent last week for the fourth consecutive time, completing the longest period without a change in rate since the winter of 1837. Local steel circles find the outlook rather uncertain. Automotive demand dropped off, but was offset by increased purchases of structural steel. Buying of tin plate gained seasonally, and warehouse business generally was good.
UNDERWRITERS CUT RATES IN CLEVELAND
CLEVELAND, April 24 (U. P.).— Automobile insurance rates have been reduced 20 to 25 per cent in greater Cleveland by the National Bureau of «Casualty and Surety Underwriters. The lower premiums cover both personal injury and property damage policies. The bureau also announced the adoption of a new policy which makes safe driving pay dividends. This provides for return of 15 per gent of premiums in cases where car owners have had no accident record.

Robert Taylor and Frances Dee will appear together at 8 o'clock tonight on Radio Theater, CBSWFBY, in “Broadway Bill,” a racehorse drama which starred Warner Baxter and Myrna Loy in the film version back in 1934. The play, adapted by Robert Riskin from a Mark Hellinger story, tells the tale of Dan Brooks, who would rather race his horse, Broadway Bill, than run the family’s paper box factory. Dan promises to return to the factory if the horse loses. His sister-in-law, Frances Dee, arrives at the track just at the point when Dan finds himself in a jam and brings both luck and romance. Mr. Taylor, who has just completed a picture with Myrna Loy, “Lucky Night,” and Miss Dee will be interviewed with Cecil B. DeMille after the drama. ” EJ ”
Irene Castle, whose life with Vernon Castle is told in cinema version (at the Apollo this week) will be a guest star on Eddie Cantor's program at 6:30 o'clock tonight, CBS-WFBM, Miss Castle acted as technical director for the picture and will tell Eddie all about her work.
