Indianapolis househelders may expect a polite knock at the (back) door any day now from one or more firemen on a furnace tour. Seventy-five firemen have been assigned to assist the Safety Board's smoke abatement committee. Chief Bernard A. Lynch, of the, Fire Prevention Division said the! inspectors will check furnaces for any defect that might produce] smoke next winter and advise the! owners of their findings.
