distributions. Similar distributions are made every six months to all 92 counties of the State. Seventy-five per cent of the distributions in each county, under the law, must go to the school units in each county, the remaining 25 per cent is retained in the various county general funds. The costs of collecting and distributing the intangibles tax during the last six years averages 1.72 per cent of the total collections, Tax Board clerks said. In a general distribution this week, Marion County received $90,000, or about $9,000 less than it received last October.

Dr. Walter E. Woodbury, director of evangelism for the Northern Baptist Convention, will direct simultaneous evangelistic services for Baptist Churches in the Indianapolis area here next fall. APRIL VALUATIONS TOP MILLION MARK

Board of new construction showed a gain over the corresponding time last vear of $599,389. Mr. Popp said that there are 52 new houses being constructed so far this month. There were no large projects in the city to give a false increase to the building valuations, he said. Residences are going up at the rate of 20 to 25 a week, according to the building commissioner.
SUES BLOOMINGTON | FOR $500 ‘SALARY’
BLOOMINGTON, April 19 (U. P). —A suit by Claude Myers against the City of Bloomington for $500 salary as chief of police was on file here today. Mr. Myers alleged the City had deprived him of work since Jan. 1, and contended he was still legally chief. The city has filed ouster proceedings against him.
