' Roberson i} City’s High . Pin Scorer ‘ Indianapolis League Bowler

Posts Count of 710: Nordholt Second.

After a short “vacation,” Indi-| anapolis bowlers can point to a! score better than 700 today. Ray! Roberson rolled 710 in the Indian-| apolis League at Pritchett's last] night. And his team, Falls City Beer, hit games of 1033, 1145 and 994 for 3172. Roberson showed games ————— 0-245, 247 and 218. 3 \ ) At the same time 57 other pinmen were smashing the maples for scores ranging from 600 up to 695. Dick Nordholt, also in the Indianapolis loop, took runnerup position with his 695 | on games of 225, 244 and 226. Van-| ier was squeezed out of a tie with | Nordholt when he| fell one pin shy of 695 on attempts) of 254, 205 and 235. | Carl Hardin needed one more | pin than he was able to score and] ended up with 599. He rolled games| of 106 skyrocketed to 233 and then fell again to 170. Several exceptionally good team | scores were registered in addition to the Falls City tally. Conkle Funeral Home rolled 3075 when it hit games; of 1024, 972 and 1079, and L. S. Ayres and Barbasols each got 3039; pins on a series of 956, 1071 and] 1012 for Barbasols and 1012, 101%] and 1013 for Ayres.

Week-End Bowling Expected to Shake Up Standings At Carnival.

CLEVELAND, April 13 (U., P.).— Sixty-four more lineups attempted today to dislodge the Old Reading Beers and their 3045 total from first place in the American Bowling Congress championships. Though only 1408 of the 4145 teams entered have yet to take their fling, the balance of the lineups are more experienced tournament shooters and today's firing started a week-end attack which likely will bring a new pace setter in the main event of the big pin carnival. Of the 2737 teams which have competed already, only five have beaten the coveted 3000 mark. Scoring in both the doubles and all-events has been exceptionally high, but the five-man and individual events have been below par. Eckhardt & Becker Brews of Detroit rolled a 2999 total for the only change in the high-10 standings yesterday. The Motor City veterans, off to a poor 924 start, staged a strike rally with games of 1043 and 1032 to take sixth place. Louis Sielaff paced the Detroiters with 667. Joe Bodis of Cleveland, who has topped the individual averages over a 10-year rating scored 645 in the doubles and 588 singles to reach a 1774 all-events figure, but had a mediocre 541 five-man score. Tim Moran and Joe Battista of Canton, O., though failing to reach the high-10 board, posted totals of 685 and 681, respectively, for the best counts in the minor events.
