COUPLE FOUND DEAD IN CAMP

Michigan Police Puzzled; Maid Discovers Bodies of Hoosier, Waitress.

8ST. JOSEPH, Mich, April 4 (U. Pp.) —Police were puzsled today by the deaths of a red-haired woman and a man whose nude bodies were found yesterday in a cabin at Grand Vista Park, a tourist resort operated by the House of David

religious cult. The victims were Nate Rosenberg, 42, Michigan City, Ind, a widower, and Mildred Stanley, 34, a waitress and divorcee. They registered at the camp early Sunday. A maid found their bodies when she entered the cabin to clean. Coroner Louis Kerlikowski said an autopsy had failed to disclose the cause of death. He said there were no signs of violence. Ife sent the vital organs to Lansing for analysis by State toxicologists. He discounted a theory that the couple may have been asphyxiated by fumes from a gas heater in the cabin, He said he still was considering the possibility that the couple may have been poisoned. A pint bottle of liquor, nearly full, found on a table in the cabin, also was forwarded to Lansing for analysis. Mr. Rosenberg’s wife, police said, died two years ago. He was formerly the owner of a Michigan City night club, former secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, and reeently had been engaged in the food busi ness. Miss Stanley had been working at Michigan City for a short time as a waitress.
