KOKOMO MAY ATTAIN HIGHER CITY RATING
Times Special KOKOMO, March 24—City officials here are viewing with much interest the 1940 Federal census. If Kokomos official population goes to more than 35,000 the City will automatically become a second class city. Unofficial estimates now place the population figure at between 36,000 and 37,000. The official population figure is 32,843, the 1930 census showed. If the City becomes a second class city, by the provisions of a 1933 Legislature act, two additional officers—a controller and a clerk of
the Board of Public Works, will be required.
