The 10th. annual Purdue Forestry Club banquet wil be held Friday at Central Presbyterian Church here. Dr. C. F. Korstian of Duke Univer=sity and Society of American Foresters president, will speak. > Dr. Korstian will discuss “Present and Future Trends in the Forestry Profession.” Indiana Conservation Department members have been invited.
Socialized medicine as it affects the public and pharmacists will be one of the discussion topics at the ninth anhual druggists’ business conference at Purdue University today and tomorrow.
The conference is sponsored by the Purdue School of Pharmacy. Four hundred persons are expected attend. Dr. R. G. Leland, director of the American Medical Association bureau of economics, is to speak at tonight’s dinner meeting, as will John P. Haramy, head of the history department at Indiana Centrai College, Indianapolis, Other speakers for the two days include E. A. O’Harrow, Indiana Board of Pharmacy president; ‘Clarence A. Jackson, Gross Income Tax Division Director; W. R. Allen, L. S. Ayres & Co. personnel director; Pharmaceutical Association secretary; W. E. Nelson, of Eli Lilly & Co., Indianapolis; M. G. Meriam, of the Becton Dickinson Co., and Dean C. B. Jordan of the Purdue School of Pharmacy. ————— SECOND DEATH IN CRASH EVANSVILLE, March 21 (U. P.).— An automobile crash Wednesday today had claimed its second victim with the death of Dr. Victor H. Marchand, 76, of Haubstadt, Ind. His wife | died earlier. Marchand was president of the Haubsiads State Bank.

WRIGHT ARCHITECT STUDIO IS BURNED
MICHIGAN CITY, March 21 (U. P.) —Loss of approximately $10,000. was caused by a fire which destroyed the architectural studio of John Lloyd Wright, son of the famed architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, near here yesterday. The blaze started from the dash board of Mr. Wright's automobile, parked in a garage adjacent to the house, and spread to the building. Mr. Wright estimated the building loss at $6000 and the contents at about $4000.

The Park Board today had purchased a 37-acre addition to the
Paul E. Rathert, board member, announced. The land, lying directly east of the present nine-hole course, will make it possible to extend the course to 18 holes. The land is being purchased from William Zobbe.

P.) —Lewlis Crafton, 20, was in critical condition in the Clay County Hospital today from injuries received in an accident at .the Freddie Block Co. mine, south of Center Point Mr. Crafton was at work at the bottom of the mine shaft when the mine, cage was lowered, striking him on) the head.
