Phi Delt’s to Hear Ryan—Oswald Ryan, Butler University graduate and a member of the Civil Aeronautics Authority in Washington, will speak at the Phi Delta Theta fraternity’s annual Founders’ Day banquet Saturday night in the Columbia Club. The dinner will conclude a two-day conference which 600 alumni members from PennSylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin are expected vo attend.

‘Postoffice Clerks to Meet—Delegates to the National Federation of Postoffice Clerks convention = at Houston, Tex., Sept. 4-9, will be nominated when Local 130 meets at 6:30 p. m. Saturday in the World War Memorial. Delegates also will be nominated to the 22d annual State convention of Indiana Federation, May 19-20 at Ft. Wayne.

Hall of Purdue to Speak—Prof. O. F. Hall of Purdue University will speak at the Perry Township dinner meeting in the high school at 6:30 p. m. Friday. The purpose of the meeting is to promote co-operation of churches, schools, P.-T. A. groups, Farm Bureau and other organizations.

Townsend Auxiliary to Meet—The Ladies’ Auxiliary of Townsend Club 25 will meet at 2 p. m. tomorrow at the home of Mrs. Mary Mayhugh, 475 S. Pine St.

WIDOW TO RELATE STORY OF SHOOTING

JASPER, March 8 (U. P.).—An Orange County Grand Jury has adjourned until Friday when members will hear Mrs. Harry C. Peffer tell of the fracas which took the life of her doctor-husband. Funeral services for Dr. Peffer, 33, .were held at Lafayette yesterday. Dr. Peffer was shot fatally in a struggle for possession of a gun he had drawn in his home when a factory worker refused Dr. Peffer’s request to leave, according to Sheriff " Noble Ellis.
