Jommittee Aids for ~ Membership Drive of ~~ Day Nursery Named

Mrs. James T. Cunningharn, general chairman of the ~ Indianapolis Day Nursery’s membership drive, today an- ~ nounced a list of division chairmen and committee workers for the campaign. which is to continue through February. Funds derived from membership subscriptions will be used to support the nursery where children of working mothers are cared for from 6:30 a. m. to 5:30 p. m. each day. . ic Division heads are Mesdames Hal T. Benham, Albert Seaton, Marvin L. Lugar, Thomas A. Hendricks, Ray R. Mulvihill, Harper J. Ransburg, P. C. Pierson, Frank L. Binford and Mr. Felix T. McWhirter. : Committee members working under the direction of division ‘chairmen include Mesdames Frank C. Balke, Joe Rand Beckett, Carl F. Eveleigh, Homer Hamer, Willard Hutchings, A. D. Lange, D. Howard Maxwell, A. J. McCollough, Clarence F. Merrell, Eldo I. Wagner, Fae W. Patrick, R. Norman Baxter, Chester W. Albright, C. P. Cartwright, Henry T. Davis, Harry Hood Martin, Russell Hippensteel, Clecn Nafe and Roy H. Coles. The Indianapolis Day Nursery Junior Auxiliary will meet at 12:30 ~ P. m. today for luncheon at the Propylaeum to discuss plans for a “World of Tomorrow Dance” to be held March 18 at the Woodstock Club. Proceeds from the party, planned around the theme of the New York World’s Fair, will be used for the nursery. Mrs. Walter C.

Peat to Lecture Tonight
From Florida comes news that Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Shipp of Washington, forinerly of Indianapolis, who are spending the winter at their Miami Beach home, have had as their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Reinald Werrenrath of New York. Last week they attended a cruise party given by Dwight Paul aboard his yacht, Swastika, in honor of - Lily Pons, Metropolitan opera prima donna, and her husband, Andre Kostelantz, orchestra conductor.. Dr. Frank S. C. Wicks is spending several weeks at Miami. Howard A. Intermill is vacationing at Miami Beach. Mrs. Bernard Korbly is home from three weeks’ visit in New York. Mrs. J. Willard Bolte ‘has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jordan, formerly of Indianapolis, at Port Washington, L. I. Wilbur D. Peat, director of the John Herron Art Museum, will give an illustrated lecture on “Chinese Art” before members of the Art Association of Indianapolis at 8:30 o'clock this. evening at the museum. The program has been arranged by the membership committee of which Mrs. Frederic H. Sterling is chairman. An exhibit of Chinese art is now on display at the museum. - Mrs. H. I. Park has returned to her home in Kendallville after a visit with her nieces, Mrs. Samuel Lewis Shank and Miss Clara Gilbert, at their home in Golden Hill. Mr. and Mrs. William Cooper Kern are home after spending a few days in New York. Mrs. John M. Shaw is in Cincinnati for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mead are motoring to California. ; Dr, John J. Haramy will address the Progressive Club next Monday at the home of Mrs. Noble Dean. Mrs. Robert A. Two hundred Propylaesum Club members heard Mrs. Marie Dawson Morrell in a violin recital yesterday afternoon in the club’s midseason entertainment program. Mrs. Morrell wore a long silver lame gown which fell in soft folds from inverted pleats at both front and back. A pair of ruby-red and brilliant clips at the low neckline accented the ruby tints of the sequins bow-knot in her hair. Mrs. Frederick E. Mason, entertainment chairman, who introduced Mrs. Morrell, wore a black crepe gown with all-over design.of tiny gold thread tulips and a black pillbox hat with loose veil. Jonquils, freesias and red tulips in a low pottery bowl and yellow tapers in a pair of two-branch candelabra formed the centerpiece on the tea table at which Mrs. Harry E. Campbell and Mrs. W. C. Bartholomew poured. Among the out-of-town guests was Mrs. Mac= Daniel Morris of Evanston, Ill, who is visiting Mrs. Russell Fortune.

Take Honeymoon Trip to Mexico

Her dress was of fuschia silk jersey, Empire style, and a matching crownless turban. Frank Maidenberg was his brother’s best man and Charles Seigal and Stanley Valinetz were ushers.

It is also .the birthday of Lord and Lady BadenPowell, chief scout and chief guide of ‘the World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. i Lum and Abner, radio team, will devote their 15-minute broadcast at 6:15 p. m. tomorrow to a ‘discussion of the international phase of scouting. The two men will include comments upon the activities of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell in their program over the CBS network. . The Girl Scout organization will be recognized at both the 1939 world fairs at San Francisco and New York City this summer. A program for Scouts will be held at the San Francisco Exposition on Saturday, May 13, and at the New York Jair on Saturday, June 10. International pageants will be presented at each Girl Scout Day and will include mass chorus selections. A replica of the Scout Chalet, international meeting place in Switzerland, will be. built in the Children’s World section at the New York World of Tomorrow. A. Scout executive will be in charge of the building which will serve as headquarters for all Scouts and Guides.

Mothers’ Club Of North Side Will Hear Talk
Mrs. Richard Fielding will review “Remember the Day” (Kenneth Horan) at the crystal anniversary meeting and guest day of the North Side Mothers’ Club Thursday, at the home of Mrs. Frank. J. Billeter, 5869 ‘Washington Blvd. The organization was founded in 1924 as the North Side Branch of the Child Conservation League.
An exhibit of old and rare crystal will be displayed at the meeting in connection with the 15th anniversary. Mrs. W. K. Gearen is in charge of the collection. Music will include a group of songs by Mrs. Paul Whipple,, soloist, acompanied by Mrs. Max Wall, who also will present several piano numbers. Mrs. A. S. Rowe will review a history of the club’s social and philanthropic aetivities. Members of the committee in charge include Mesdames W. W. Peet, Alfred Buschman, Charles M. Wills and Billeter.
