Conclave; ' Cannon Will Speak.
The 16th annual midwinter con-|
, ference of the American Savings and Loan Institute will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Claypool Hotel, it was announced today. Between 300 and 400 executives and staff workers of savings, building and loan associations from over all the United States are expected to attend. The Institute is the educational and research organization of the six million dollar thrift and home finance business, according to officers. Discussions will concern advertising, business development and sales technique.
Cannon to Speak
Fermor S. Cannon, Indianapolis, Railroadmen’s Federal Savings and Loan Association president, will welcome visitors in an address the first day. Benjamin F. Bills, Chicago realtor, will conduct a salesmanship forum in the afternoon. Committee members include: Mary Rosalie Beck, Caroline White, Hester Lea Emswiller, Frank Riggs Jr., Edward W. Springer, Goehler Ohmart and Ivan Cooprider. Hosts are the local Institute chapter, the Marion County Build< ing and Loan League, the Indiana Savings and Loan League and the Indianapolis Federal Home Loan Bank.

Paul McGuire, Australian author . and lecturer, will speak on “The Christian Revolution” at an open meeting sponsored by the. Knights of Columbus supreme council Tuesday night at the K. of C. Auditorium. Mr. McGuire, who is giving a series of lectures in the United States, will answer questions. He has traveled in India, Italy, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Ireland, England and the: United States, studying social economics.
