By VIRGINIA MOORHEAD MANNON : Seven Indianapolis business and professional men last night lauded the 10 fields of Girl Scout work in making “a well-rounded woman of tomorrow from the girl of today.” They spoke at the annual dinner meeting of Indianapolis and Marion County Girl Scout executives:and leaders at L. S. Ayres auditorium. More than 200 work-
~ ers and friends of scouting were present.
Ten tableaux were staged by Girl Scouts with Miss Helen Rogers, Brownie; Miss Martha Hutchman, intermediate scout, and Miss Mary Jane Hess, senior scout, acting as announcers. Speakers were Dr. Herman G. Morgan, Health Board Secretary; James E. Deery, City Controller; Frank N. Wallace, State ‘entomologist; Dr. Matthew Winter, Hugh McGibeny, Arthur Carr, curator of the Children’s Museum; C. M. Davis of L. S. Ayres and Dr. F. S. C. Wicks. Mrs. Horace R. McClure, commissioner, gave an inaugural-address and reports were made by Mrs. Arthur Medlicott, secretary; Mrs. E. Starling Pearce, treasurer; Miss Lucille Cannon, director, and “Mrs. J. Plan Southern Cruises
Mr. and Mrs. Scott Butler Clifford are to sail Feb. 11 on the S. S. Nieuw Amsterdam for a 46-day cruise around South America. Mrs. Clifford was Miss Virginia Ziegler of St. Louis before her recent marriage. Mr, and Mrs. Austin H. Brown, who have been spending a few days in New York, are to sail today on the S. S. Mrs. Test and Miss Katharine Kenney, who planned to sail for South America Saturday, have postponed their trip. Slides depicting stately Southern mansions surrounded by azalea and camellia japonica shrubs will be used to illustrate Mrs. Balfour Miller’s lecture on “Natchez, Where the Old South Begins” at 2 p. m., Feb. 3, at L. S. Ayres’ Auditorium. The garden department of the Woman's Department Club is to sponsor the lecture and style show afterward. Miss Marjorie Jean Mueller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clemens O. Mueller, left yesterday with her uncle, Donald L. Stone of Hanover, N. H, to spena a few days in New York before ‘going to Hanover for a 10-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. Stone. Mr. Stone has been visiting relatives here for several days. Miss Mueller will return to attend DePauw University during the spring term. The group’s welfare activities include donations to the Potter Fresh Air School, Julia Jameson Nutrition Camp and the Children’s Museum. The organization also aids the Flower Mission Hospital, Red Cross, Community Fund and radium fund of the Seventh District Federation

Miss Helen Hartinger will speak this afternoon on “Viennese Viewpoints” at the all-day meeting at the church of the Woman's Association and the Woman’s Home and Foreign Missionary societies of the Meridian Street Methodist Church. A prayer meeting at 10:30 o'clock this morning opened the Association Day exercises, under the direction of Mrs. Edgar G. Henderson. A business meeting at 11 a. m. preceded a 12:30 p. m. luncheon, with Mrs. Hugh Carpenter and Mrs. Leonard L. Campbell as cochairmen. Mrs. O. R. Sumner will conduct devotions at 1:20 p. m.
