WGASLINE INTO INDIANA PROPOSED
Power Commission Asked to Permit Operation.
WASHINGTON, Jan. 25.—Governors of both Indiana and Kentucky were notified by the Federal Power Commission today that the General Gas Pipe Line Corp., Indianapolis, has pstitioned FPC for a certificate of publicigonvenience and necessity
~ to operate a gas. pipe line in the
two states. 3 According to the petition, which sets out no final details, the cor-
_porations wants to ‘“ooperate and
maintain a 20-inch natural gas pipe
‘line approximately 180 miles in
length for the purpose of transporting hatural .gas from gas fields in Kentucky for sale to industrial concerns and public utilities along the proposed line, which will term- | inate in Indiana.” The applicant. also proposes to construct approximately 40 miles of 3, 4, 6 and 8-inch field gathering The application states that a War Depaftment permit has been ob-
; _ tained for the construction of a
double pipeline crossing under the Ohio River near Louisville, Ky., and that the operation of the proposed project will require one 2400-horse-
power compressor station.
Officers of the newly-formed corporation are listed in the application as follows: Albert Kalo, Ine dianapolis, president and chairman of the board of directors; Elmer E. Boone, vice president and assistant general manager, Whiteland; Arthur W. Records, second vice president, Franklin; Walter Fahrson, third vice president, Indianapolis; Ethyle Fahrson, secretary, Indianapolis; Ralph E. Eccles, assistant secretary, Whiteland; Chelsea C. Boone, treasurer, Elkhart, and Irene Kalo, assistant treasurer,
Indianapolis.
12 STEAMERS ‘DUCK’ STORM IN ENGLAND
FALMOUTH, England, Jan. 25 (U. P.).—The worst storm off the Cornish Coast in years left a trail of shipping mishaps in its wake today. : Eight steamers took refuge in the harbor. Four others found comparative shelter five miles out. One, the Langlee Brook, bound for St. John, N. B., from the River Tyne, radioed that a sailor had been washed overboard by a terrific wave. : Among the ships in the harbor, the Beechville, bound for Oran from Cardiff, landed seven men with broken legs, arms or ribs. The Binta, bound for Copenhagen from Corpus Christi, Tex., landed a man with both legs broken.
