Mr. Pitts was born in New Orleans, La. “He had been in the insurance business in Indianapolis for 30 years and the last 12 years he was field superintendent for the Kentucky Life Insurance Co. FRANKFORT, Jan. 17— Harry Bristley, a grocery manager here, received a $10 bill from a customer who pur= chased less than $1 worth of goods.
The bill was torn and the pieces had been pinned. together. .The bank later noti« fied Mr. Bristley that the ‘pieces were parts of different bills and the note was of no value.
Bank officials told Mr. Bristley of another person, an insurance man, who had the same experience. Mr. Bristley sought the insurance man to see if he had the other parts of the bills. He had them.

RENO, Nev. Jan. 17 (U. P.)— Mrs. Natica Peabody Sinclair, an attractive blond, today obtained a divorce from Beverly Kennon Sinclair, New York stock broker who is a cousin of the Duchess of Windsor. Mrs. Peabody waived alimony. She charged cruelty and gave the details to Judge B. F. Curler at a closed session. She said she had no plans for another marirage. The Sinclairs were married Sept. 22, 1937.

LOGANSPORT, Jan. 17—Funeral services were conducted here today for: Lincoln Gipe, retired Pennsylvania passenger engineer, who died at 78. He was the last of five brothers, all of whom were Pennsylvania engineers.
Mr. Gipe retired in 1929 after serving 51 continuous years. The last 40 years of the period were spent on fast passenger trains between Logansport and Cincinnati. His rec-

A request that the public’ not ask coal dealers to violate City ordinances, was issued today by E. S. Joseph, Indianapolis Coal Merbis Association president. In many instances, Mr. Joseph said, customers insist that dealers

trucks over curbs and sidewalks in making deliveries, This is forbidden by City ordinance, he pointed out, and in several cases, drivers have been arrested for complying with the customer’s demand. Mr. Joseph said the ordinance makes it permissible for trucks to be backed over the sidewalk where curbs have been cut for that purpose. “All trucks are equipped with wheelbarrows and coal can be wheeled in for delivery Where the curb has not been cut.”
