Varipapa Begins Exhibition
Of Bowling Today on Local Alleys.
Andy Varipapa, one of the fore-|:
most trick shot bowler, was to ap-
pear at the Hox-Hunt Alleys this],
afternoon, tonight and.tomorrow to give free instructions, to bowl against picked local bowlers and to demonstrate the shots that have made him famous. A picked team of Jack Hunt, Jerry
phy, Alice Shea and Eva Dawson, which was selected by balloting, will roll matches of two. games each against VaPFipapa Thursday and; Friday nights. of the girls will bowl each night. Harry Wheeler's series of 715 made in competition against the Coca Cola team was the highlight of local bowling last night. Rolling for the Marott Shoe Store team in the Indianapolis League at the Pritchett Alleys, Wheeler led off with a 213 game, pushed his score to 235 and finished off with a 267.
High Among Women
Tillie Kagel took all honors of the evening for women’s bowling with a 627. After getting off to a mediocre start with a 180 she boosted her scores to 222 and 225. Frank Liebtag bowling with the Coca Cola team finished second in individual honors with a 690. His
His second game was the best one game recorded last night, although it beat by only one point the 276 made by John Mahan who finished with a 684 series. Mahan, who bowled in the K. of C. League, had one bad game of 162 which cut down his aggregate score. Murphy, Abbott, Fulton and Moore were others to finish above 670.
