"2 New Bridge Runarounds i Are Established: U. S. 50 | Project Done.
Two detours were lifted on Indiana roads this week and two new bridge runarounds were established, T. A. 3 Dicus, State Highway Commission | chairman, ‘announced today. Also reported was the completion of shoulder construction on U. S. 50, from Aurora to Lawrenceburg and on Ind. 62, from Leavenworth to Corydon. A detour on Ind. 46 over city streets of Batesville, also was eliminated. | A seven-and-one-half mile detour from Ind. 26, east of Fairmount, also was lifted, this week, Mr. Dicus said. Detours in the State over city | streets at present are U. 8S. 12 and ~ U: 8. 20 in East Chicago.
Traffic Maintained
- Bridge runarounds where traffic is maintained but where the State does not assume responsibility are at U. 8. 40 at Stilesville; Ind. 47, east - edge of Thorntown:; U. 8. 50, at Lawrenceburg; Ind. 55, south part of Gary, and Ind. 69, four miles southeast of Mt. Vernon. Shoulder and other constructions where Wage is maintained at the driver's 1i§k are located at Ind. 13, Indianapolis to Noblesville; U. 8S. 30, 6 to 9 miles west of Valparaiso; U. 8S. 40, from 5 miles west to 3 miles east of Stilesville — 40 - mile = per - hour speed limit inforced—use old lane only west of Stilesville; Ind. 46, from Batesville to Penntown, and Ind. 47, from Ind. 29 to BooneHamilton County line. Detours now in force are: U. 8. 33—From U. S. 6 west and «north 71; miles over Roads 6 and 13. Ind. 145~From 1 mile north New "~ Boston to Fulda, 6%; miles over county gravel.
“WAGE LAW TEST AGAIN DELAYED

WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 (U, P.).— Wage-Hour Administrator Elmer PF. » Andtews said today that he was having difficulty in obtaining a court test of the Wage-Hour Act because employers, in general were 3 | complying with it.
*% Between 500 and 600 apparent violations have been investigated, he said, but in most cases employ‘ers explained that the violation was ¢ “a misunderstanding” and reimwt bursed their workers. Approxismately 90 of these cases, he said, were in New York City. Earlier this week, Mr. Andrews announced that he had “six or seven cases” which he considered “willful violations.” He said when he prepared to institute legal pro- ¥ ceedings, however, the employers “settled up.”

He said that the Justice Depart2" ment and his legal staff jointly had considered 20- or 30 cases but still did not have any that appeared Suitable for a constitutional test. = He announced appointment of two new members to the textile industry committee to fill vacancies.
