Fabien Sevitzky has chosen the radio as vehicle for the American premiere of Alexander Moyzes’ “Janosik” Overture. The work, scheduled for the coming week end’s subscription concerts in- the Murat, will be heard first by a na-tion-wide audience on the orchestra’s regular weekly broadcast at 2 p. m. tomorrow, CBS-WFBM.

The composer, a resident of Bratislava, Czechoslavakia, has explained the program of the overture in a recent letter to Mr. Sevitzky. It deals with the exploits of Juro Janosik, a 17th Century Slav hero, who seems to have been something of a combination of Robin Hood and Till Eulenspiegel. Tomorrow’s broadcast also includes Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony; the Aria and Fugue by Arthur Foote, and Debussy’s “The AfterAll three works have been heard on this season's subscription concerts.

For the fifth Sete ive year, the Civic Theater and the Kirk Furniture Co. will join forces to bring local listeners a radio presentation of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The broadcast will be at 5:30 p. m. on Christgnas Day. Dr. John Ray Newcomb, who almost rivals Lionel Barrymore as a radio Dickensian, again will play Scrooge. The broadcast adaptation
