OCHESTER, N. H, Dec. 13 (U. P.).—The pastured bull

‘that attacked Thomas Gilbert

A "yesterday tossed him so far that it Ee {firobably saved. his life. Mr. Gil‘bert landed on the safe side of the “pasture fence, with two broken

‘ribs—but free from the hooves and Shomns of the enraged bull.

USK, Wyo., Dec. 13 (U. P.).— John Peterson attempted to en himself because of his empty “wallet. It saved his life. *" Let off the WPA roll= yesterday, with seven children to sup‘port and no prospect of a job, Mr. terson, 58, spent his last dime oh two shotgun shells. He put them into a gun, placed the ‘muzzle against his left side where ‘he habitually kept his billfold in “his leather jacket, and pressed the ‘trigger. “Chief damage was to the wallet and the only thing in it—his Social Security card.
