Mother Sighs as Daughter Keeps Comes Clicking
NEW YORK, Dee. 7: ©. PI—A slight difference of opinion has developed between the “debutante-of« the-year” - and her ; British-born
mother.
Mrs. Frederick Wakilss said she didn’t see why beautiful, 17-year-old Brenda Frazier—who makes her debut Dec. 27 and will one day come into $8,000,000—had to be tagged everywhere she went by _photographers. “I'm doing everything “in my power to stop this publicity,” she said. “I dislike it intensely. Why, my daughter can’t even go to supper without being photographed. Somebody asked me the other day how much her publicity had cost!” The object of Mrs. Watriss’. solicitude—tall, slim and with lustrous black hair—laughed and said she was having the time of her life. She Loves It “I love being a deb,” she said. Mrs. Watriss sighed. “Of course,” she said, “people who haven't a beautiful daughter don’t realize how difficult it-is for -a mether to curb publicity.” Miss Frazier, whose. father was the late Frank Duff Frazier, her mother’s first husband, has been in circulation, so to speak, for about a month. In that time her photograph has appeared in virtually | every newspaper in the land. She has been the subject of scores of magazine. articles and she has even indorsed a soap. The only thing she -doesn’t - like about her life is that she has to keep on the .go all
the time. La rk “Golly,” she said. “My feet hurt.”
