FRESNO, Cal, Dec. 7 (U..RP.).— The prosecution sought today to discredit the story of Olen E. Jones, 23, that he planned to elope with his sweetheart, Edith Gilliland, the night he allegedly killed her. A jury of nine men and three women in Jones’ first-degree murder trial heard testimony that prior to Oct. 4 when Miss Gilliland was shot, Jones had threatened her life. Defense attorneys indicated they would contend that Jones went into an. .uncontrollable rage when he
called at the girl's apartment and found Fred Danielson visiting her.
