Ensemble To Present Yule Season Program Thursday Afternoon

Schellschmidt Group to Appear at Propylaeum; Pennsylvania Alumni Choose Committees For Mask and Wig Performance.

The Pauline Schellschmidt ensemble will play its dulcet part in inducing the proper gift-hunting spirit - When it presents a special Christmas program at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Propylaeum.

The ingredients of this holiday hors d’oeuvre will include extracts from the fairy opera, “Haensel and Gretel” and Tschaikowsky's

“Christmas Cantata.”

Members of the vocal and instrumental ensemble who will per“form under Miss Schellschmidt’s direction are Mrs. William Devin and Mrs. Otto Hepner, sopranos; Mrs. Robert Blake, contralto; Mrs. Frank T. Edenharter, piano; Mrs. Louise Schellschmidt Koehne, harp; Mrs. Paul Niles, cello, and Miss Irma Mae Steele, violin. Miss

Supper-Dance to Follow Mask and Wig Show

University of Pennsylvania alumni and their wives are busy with arrangements for the Mask and Wig Club musical, “All Around the Town,” to be presented Dec. 27 at the Murat Theater. A group of wives is arranging a supper-dance at the Indianapolis Athletic Club after the show. As is their custom, cast members will repeat song and dance hits from the musical at the aftertheater party. Mrs. William C. Griffith has been appointed dance chairman by Harry S. Print Exhibit At Herron Museum

A December attraction at the John Herron Art Museum will be the Milwaukee Print Makers’ traveling exhibit of lithographs, block and linoleum prints and etchings. . Wilbur D. Peat, director at the museum, has announced that the exhibit of water color paintings by Glen Mitchell will be continued for two weeks. | Robert Tschaegle, assistant curator of the museum, gave a gallery talk yesterday afternoon on the life and works of Andrea del Sarto, Florentine artists of the Renaissayce, whose early work, “Portrait of a Young Noblewoman,” is now hanging at the museum. The del Sarto masterpiece is the first work to be exhibited under the new “picture of the month” plan. It will be removed this week. >

Christmas Parties Feature Club Social News This Week; Meridian Hills Plans Event

The Christmas spirit already has pervaded social activities of a number of Indianapolis organizations. Programs of holiday music, luncheons, dinners and gift exchanges are among events scheduled for early this week. "A local country club is planning a holiday party for

New Year's Eve. The annual Christmas party and luncheon for Sunnyside Guild members was held at 12:30 p. m. today at the Columbia Club.

Mrs. Alta M. Martin sang Christmas songs, accompanied by Mrs. Max Graves, and group singing of carols was under Mrs. Martin's direction. A decorated Christmas tree, later to be donated to a needy family, and an exchange of gifts among members were program features. : Mrs. Edward H. Enners was chairman of hostesses. “A Day in Old Jerusalem” is to be the topic of a talk by Ida Bonnefield Wilhite, professor of home economics, Butler University, at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at School 33. Music will be by the Girls’ Glee Club.

A Christmas play by the mothers and Christmas carols by the children will compose the program of School 47 at 3:15 p. m. Wednesday.

School 77 will see a Christmas play given by the pupils from 2 to 3 p. m. Wednesday.

A Christmas play will be given by the pupils of School 78 in the school auditorium at 7:30 p. m. Friday.

Mrs. C. G. Berry will be hostess at a 12:30 o'clock luncheon next Wednesday for members of the Warren Township Parent-Teacher Council. A Christmas party will be held following the luncheon. Members are asked to bring a 10 cent gift for exchange.

Her slippers matched an amethyst clip at the neckline and she wore natural flowers in her hair. Mrs. Tyson wore a gown of violet ombre chiffon with a balerrina skirt and shirred bodice. A shoulder corsage of wine orchids and accessories of silver and rhinestones completed her ensemble.
