Held in the Maricopa County Jail after police overtook them in a 20mile chase along desert roads were L. D. Banta, 19, of Rodeo, N. M,, and his friend, Clive Chenoworth, 16, of Clovis, N. M. The girl they tried to rescue by pointing a gun at nuns was Banta’s sister, who was detained in the convent for delinquency.

1703 Crippled Youngsters Get Help in Period, a Gain of 238.
A total of 793 crippled children from 86 Indiana counties have received medical attention in the last three months, Oliver W. Greer, head of the crippled children’s division of the State Department qf Public Welfare, said today. This is an increase of 238 children over the , preceding three months, according to division statistics. In this same period, an increase of 230 cases in clinical examinations was recorded. The number of children hospitalized gained 35 and admissions to the Rotary Convalescent Home showed only a slight increase. CHANGE OF VENUE GRANTED BROOKFIELD, Mo., Oct. 27 (U. P.) —Circuit Judge Paul Van Osdol today granted the motion of attor-
neys for Dr. William F. Lamance for a change of venue for his trial on a charge of murdering his wife. Judge Osdol moved the trial to Keytesville, Chariton County, and set the trial date for Nov. 20.
