Modern Girl’s Business Role T'o Be Outlined

Miss Edith Evans, advertising instructor at the Indiana University Extension, will speak on “The Modern Girl in Business” at the Indianapolis Sub Deb Club convention Nov. 5 at the Hotel Lincoln. Miss

Latreian Club To Hear Talks By Mrs. Newton

Mrs. O. M. Newton, former member of the Alpha Kappa Latreian Club, will present a series of book reviews during the year’s programs of the organization. Her first reviews will be given at a meeting Friday at the home of Mrs. Lee Fox and include “The Yearling” (M. K. Rawlings) and “Panny Kemble” (Margaret Armstrong). Mrs. Royer Knode Brown will be hostess at the meeting Nov. 22, when Mrs. Newton will offer her second book review program. The third in the series will be held Jan. 24 at the home of Mrs. Leslie Everson. The organization will sponsor a benefit bridge party Feb. 28 at Ayres’ auditorium. Proceeds from the party will go to the Indianapolis Flower Mission Hospital. The organization has supplied the hospital with nine wheel chairs. A box supper and card party will be held Dec. 13 with officers of the group as hostesses: Husbands of members will be honor guests. Frank Wade will speak on “ManMade Gems” April 11 at the home of Mrs. Lester Theobald. A talk on «Modern and Antique China” will be given May 9 by a representative of a local store. Mrs. Edwin Cree will be hostess at the meeting. The season will close with a President’s Day luncheon May 23.

Davis Guest Speaker For Mooseheart Day

James J. Davis will be guest speaker tomorrow evening for the annual observance of Mooseheart Day by the local chapter of Women of the Moose. The celebration is being held in commemoration of Mr. Davis’ birthday and of the founding of Moosehearf, child city. A James J.
