Stocks displayed an irregularly|”

higher trend in afternoon dealings

today. Many low-priced shares and] -

selected issues met strong demand.

Trading was at the slowest pace|-&

since Oct. 4, although sizeable blocks were turned over in many lowpriced shares. Hiram Walker was an outstanding strong spot, rising 2! points to a new high at 49%. General Food advanced 13% points to a new high at 391% and holding most of the gain. McIntyre Porculine advanced almost a point to above 49 to a new 1938 high among gold stocks. : Radio was extremely active around
