Groups Plan Big Variety Of Affairs

Dinners and Songfest Among Sorority Activities.

Activities planned for this week by alumnae groups and local sororities include a wide variety of activities for guests and members themselves. In the musical line are a sorority songfest and an afternoon program by a national music group. |# A number of dinners have been|” planned and one group will install officers. Social events include a Halloween party, a rush party and two bridge parties. One organization has planned a lecture.

The Indianapolis Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi will have a supper meeting at 6 o'clock tomorrow at the home of Mrs. John L. Goldthwaite, 210 Berkley Road. A special invitation has been extended to 1938 graduates of Indiana colleges, who were members of Pi Beta Phi chapters.

With the Dramatic Club cast memorizing cues and the Lambs Club chorus practicing trills for its light opera, the outlook for the spectators’ entertainment in

the next few weeks is uncommonly auspicious. Rehearsals for “Three Men on a Horse,” the Dramatic Club’s first production of the season, are under way in the “Dramatic Club Playshop” on the ninth floor of the Indianapolis Athletic Club. The rehearsal room’s professional name, an inspiration of a member of the cast while answering the telephone, has stuck so well that Miss Betty Reed, a committee member, is making a sign for the door. ‘Mr. and Mrs. Blaine H. Miller Jr. are chairmen of the committee for the performance to be given Nov. 5 at English’s Theater. A supe per dance will follow at the Athletic Club. Miss Genevieve Bryant, daughter of Mrs. Marie Bryant, became the pride of Edward L. Claypool, son of Mrs. Clara Claypool, this morning at

The bride wore a white velvet gown fashioned on princess lines with a high square neckline and long fitted sleeves. Her veil was of fingertip length and fell from a Juliet cap of lace. She carried a bouquet of orchids. Miss Margaret Reis was maid of honor and wore a gown of stone blue velvet fashioned like that of the bride. She wore a halo of braided velvet with a maline veil and carried a colonial bouquet. James R. Murray was best man and Albert Buennagel and Robert Harvey were ushers. Mrs. Bryant wore a black wool suit and a corsage of sweetheart roses.
