CALL FOR VIEWS OF CANDIDATES
Small Businessmen Want Opinions on Spending, Labor, Social Security.
AKRON, O,, Oct. 14 (U. P.).—The National Small Businessmen’s Association, claiming nonpolitical interest, today asked the nation’s congressional and senatorial candidates what they think about Government issues. Z Dewitt M. Emery of Akron, president of the Association founded a year ago to give small businessmen a voice in national affairs, sent questionnaires to candidates requesting their views on the Wagner Labor Act, Federal tax laws, “blank check” authorizations, Government reorganization, Government expenditures and the Soeial Security Act. Mr. Emery said in a letter to the candidates that “small business is today, as it always has been, the very backbone of our nation.” He described small businessmen as a “new and powerful element” in national life. “We are not a fraternal order,” he said. “We hold no brief for any political party or school of thought. We are simply the small business-
men of the country and our sole}
purpose is to have a voice in national affairs so that we may make our contribution toward better government.” :

Last week they recovered the body of Hazel Brown. They were not certain that Miss Turner was a third victim of the crazed tavern keeper, but she and
