Farley has placed the Democratic National Committee squarely behind all Democratic nominees in this came paign regardless whether they are liberal or conservative. WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 (U. P.).— The Civil Service Commission announced today that 81,000 employees of emergency Government agencies will be classified under Civil Service

regulations Feb. 1, 1939. The Commission announced it is

investigating the status of approximately 44,000 additional positions which may be affected by President Roosevelt's executive order of June 24 blanketing all Government employees except those specifically exempt by law into the merit system.
