Receipts of around 8000 hogs at Indianapolis held steady today despite lower markets at nearby | points, the Bureau of Agricultural Economics announced, but the deline at other points served to bring local values closer in line. Top price for good and choice 230 to 240pound butchers held at $8.90. Packing sows bulked from $7 to $8, mostly $7.10 up, with a top of $8.25 on good lightweight sows. Estimated supplies of 2800 cattle consisted of around 50 loads of steers and yearlings and around 15 loads of heifers. Quality ran mostly {medium and good, with strictly choice weighty beeves absent. Little was done at a late morning hour on medium and lower grade steers and heifers with bids weak to lower. | A load of 770-pound mixed yearlings |
