Flasher Signals Are Announced.

Indiana's ‘campaign to make its highways safer moved forward to-| day as plans for installing flasher signals at 15 intersections of high- | ways and railroads and for placing

intersections were announced by A. Dicus, State Highway Commission chairman. Approval for location of signals and signs has been given by the Commission, the Public Service Commission and the U. of Public Roads, Mr. Dicus said. Most signal materials will be purchased by the Highway Commission with State and Federal funds. Installation will be made by the railroads and highway workers. Crossings included in this pro{gram are on highways, streets and ‘county roads where improvement | work is financed partly with Federal funds and where such protection is required by Federal regulations. Signals like those to be installed | are in operation at 213 crossings.

PET LAMB MARTYR TO IRONY OF FATE

A pet lamb, owned by the Rev. and Mrs. George Lawson, today was to undergo a “serious overation” at a local meat packing plant, due to circumstances over which it ha no control. Yesterday afternoon two men 3} sicked up the lamb in the vicinity the Lawson home, 839 Birch Ave. put it in a truck and hauled it to the Union Stockyards. Police and Mrs. Lawson followed, aime in time to claim the check! for $3.72 which the men had collect- | fed for the animal. Then Mrs. Law{son discovered she had no way to take the lamb back home, so she ac- | cepted the check in full payment. The men were charged with petit | larceny.
