DISCOVERY OF PLANE WRECKAGE INDICATED
MANILA, P. I, Sept. 14 (U, P) — Government postal officials announced today that they had received an “ambiguously worded” telegram from a postmaster at a Samar Island town indicating the discovery of pieces of airplane wreckage. Samar Island is in the vicinity of the last reported position of Pan American Airways’ lost Hawaii Clipper. Airline officials said they had no definite information of any airplane wreckage.
