Messrs. Earl Peters, Representing FHA, ‘and”T. "A. and J. R. Moysahan Announce the Completion of Indianapolis Two Newest Apartment Buildings, the South Linwoods, an FHA Project.
Indianapolis’ newest apartment buildings, the South Linwoods, are located opposite each other facing Pleasant Run Boulevard at Linwood Avenue. The project was started last year, at which time Building No. 1 was completed. It contains 40 apartments and faces Washington Street at Linwood Ave. two buildings which were in the original plan have now been completed, and contain respectively 33 apartments each. They have been financed through the facilities of the Federal Housing Administration as provided under section 207 of the National Housing Act. The apartments have 3, 4 and 5 rooms, and are in accordance with the very high standards required by the Federal Housing Administration as to rental housing. Several important features which are required by the Federal Housing Administration and which are included in the New South Linwood Apartments are
thorough ventilation of each apartment, consisting of not less than
two exposures and in many cases three exposures, ample site so that with proper landscaping the building will gradually be surrounded by attractive grounds, and accessibility of location. Accessibility is especially true of the South Linwood Apartments because they have the advantage of the East Washington Street car-

line, the New York Through Street and of Pleasant Run Boulevard. Access to these three arterial traffic lines enables the apartments to have a short radius to employment in all directions. The apartments, too, are located near the Irvington High School and Grade School, and the playgrounds of Christian Park nearby.
The New South Linwood Apartments will be under the management of the Moynahan Apartment Organization who report that
reservations have already been made for over 80% of the apart-
ments.
‘The architects for the new apartment were Mr. Joseph Edward
Biberstein of Washington, D. C., representing the Federal Housing Administration, and the local consulting architect, Mr. Edward Pierre of Pierre & Wright. During the construction of the South Linwoods approximately 100 skilled craftsmen were em-
* ployed for four months, and in addition to these employees, it is
estimated approximately 250 individuals in factories throughout the country where material was fabricated were also given employment.
