‘Hosts Arrange Varied Parties for Their Guests While Other City Folk Return From Travels Or Prepare to Set Out.

By VIRGINIA MOORHEAD MANNON The influx of late August visitors is fomenting a round of informal entertaining to add sparkle to what otherwise might be a rather drab period of the season. At the same time there's an orgy of scrubbing and polishing in honor of returning travelers and a flurry o packing as others depart. * Mrs. Ralph W. Lieber and Mrs. Walter J. Stuhldreher gave a luncheon and bridge party this afternoon at the Indianapolis Country Club in honor of Mrs. W, ‘Marshall Dale of Ft. Wayne, formerly of Indianapolis, who is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Lieber for a few days.

Guests included Mesdames John L. Reuss, Walter I. Hess, Jack Adams, K. M. Mosiman, William J. Freaney, William F. Clevenger, Paul Ferguson, Frank Cantwell and Mrs. L. J. Gausepohl. . and Mrs. Hess entertained informally yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Dale preceding the steak roast Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Earle gave in her honor last night. Mrs. Reuss intends to return to Ft. Wayne, her former home, Sunday with Mrs. Dale for a few days’ visit with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogan and Mr. and Mrs. Dale. : rh Mrs. Clinton H. William Hofmann and their daughters, Charlotte and Martha. Mr. and Mrs. Keehn will entertain this evening for Mr. and Mrs. McGlone. ~ Leaving today for a week-end houseparty at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Myron J. McKee at Walloon Lake, Mich., are Mr, and Mrs. Carl J. Weinhardt, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Gillespie, Mr. and Mrs. Earle, Mr. and Mrs. Gausepohl and their nephew, Richard Madden. The group has met frequently since Mesdames McKee, Gillespie, Weinhardt and Mrs. Earle were students at Western Col lege. Disease Study On Program of “Women’s Group

Dr. Ada E. Schwitzer, chairman of the health committee of the May Wright Sewall Indiana Council of Women, has announced. that the study of syphilis, cancer, infantile paralysis and tuberculosis control will be stressed by her department this year. Mrs. R. Earl Peters has announced that the human relations program of the National Council of Women will be followed by the State Council this year.
