Ray Flaherty, coach of the Washington Redskins pro football champions, has no easy job on his hands. . . . He will have to match strategy with Coaches McMillin, Kipke, Pond, Layden and Robertson in the All-Star game at Soldiers’ Field Aug. 31. . The 2500 fans who sat in on the double-header here last night saw the Indians look the part of champions as Jack Tising and Lloyd Johnson turned in spectacular mound performances. In the first tilt the Tribesters won, 5 to 0, as Tising held the Brewers to four hits and struck out 12. Not a single Brewer got beyond second base and in eight of the nine innings Jack fanned one or more bewildered Brewers. The Milwaukee boys® were completely subdued by Tising’s fast ball and curve,f and in addition to rolling up a doen strikeouts the Tribe right-hander didn’t issue a pass, slashed out two hits and batted in two of his team’s five runs. Buck Fausett, the Indian's leading hitter, paced the home attack with two doubles and a single and two runs batted in. Bill Zuber, down from Cleveland, also had his strikeout ball working and chalked up eight. The Indians got to him in four. innings, however, and put enough runs across to make the situation entirely safe for Tising. Three on, None Cut

The Tribe annexed the seveninning second game, 3 to 1, and Johinson blanked the Brewers with two hits until the seventh when they loaded the sacks with none out and caused a lot of fidgeting on the Indians’ bench. Ted Gullic beat out an infield hit, Lin Storti walked and Fred Schulte drilled a single to short center, filling ’em up. Johnson pulled -himself together on T®mmy Irwin, who stroked into a double play, Gullic scoring, and Johnson tossed out Oscar Grimes to end the game.
