Promising fast action in restoring normal sanitary sewer service to residents of the 58th St. area, Carl Kortepeter, Marion County WPA co-

- ordinator, said today steel piling would be sunk to shut out a 200-year-old

underground stream, which caused a break in the sewer.

“Mayor Boetcher asked WPA to

take over the project,” Mr. Kortepeter said, “after residents of 58th St. had been without sanitary sewer connections for several weeks.” The work will be done under a blanket allowance for sewer. work. As a result, City Engirieer Henry B. Steeg turned over solution of the problem to WPA, and City employees were withdrawn from the job yesterday. WPA workers immediately were sent to the scene.
