STATE FARM PRICES SHOW NEW ADVANCE

Index Reaches 103.6, Pur-|

due Statistician Says.

LAFAYETTE, Aug. 9 (U. P.).—Indiana farm prices moved upward for the second consecutive month to reach an average of 103.6 on July 15, M. M. Justin, Purdue University agricultural statistician, announced today. The base average of 100

represents farm prices for the period from 1910 to 1914. With the exception of corn, all crop prices moved downward, while, with a few exceptions, livestock prices were somewhat higher than a month earlier, Mr. Justin said. ‘ The 103.6 index of Hoosier farm prices was 4.3 points higher than the month before. It was “a poor comparison, however, with the 140 index a year agp, which was the peak reached before farm prices began a long downward swing,” according to Mr. Justin.{

Be Natural

That Is Dr. Harvey's Advice for Keeping Well Now. .

E yourself to keep well in hot weather, Dr. Verne K. Harvey, State Health director, said today. With August’s torrid “dog days” enveloping Indianapelis, Dr. Harvey advised using common sense as the best guaranice of physical and mental well-being. The individual must decide for himself what his hot-weather rules should be, Dr. Harvey said. : “Generally speaking, it’s advisable to dress in lighter clothing, eat

moderately -and evercise with restraint,” he explained. “But we must decide for ourselves how much we are going to cut down on our usual activities. “I certainly would not prescribe any hard and fast health rules, because they vary with individuals.”
