WASHINGTON, July 29 (U. PJ). —The Republican National Committee today had published a booklet called “Quotations From Franklin Delano Roosevelt,” charging the President : with “intellectual dishonesty” and ‘brazen reversals of * position.” An accompanying - letter from Franklyn Waltman, committee publicity director, explained the booklet was prepared for Republican campaign speakers. The theme of the 100 pages of quotations taken from Mr. Roosevelt's public utterances over a period of eight or more years was indicated by a quotation on the cover! from Benjamin Franklin: “Saying and doing have quarrelied and parted.” : In a preface outlining the method of selecting material, it is explained that the quotations are grouped in three sections, first, Mr. Roosevelt's: pledge to the people, second, particularly cogent guotations, and, third, the main body of quotations. : | Cites Credit Claims
«Administration claims of credit for recovery are especially useful,” the preface states, “in fixing responsibility for the Roosevelt depression, for in the words of the
President, ‘we planned it that way.’ | «Statements are included which.
show administration favor to special groups, disfavor to others, all instilling class hatred, formerly unknown in this country. : «Statements which have little or no factual basis were selected for use where the factual situation obviously belies the statement. Many manifestly misleading or unfair statements will be found in the record. Charges Dishonesty
«Obvious inconsistencies are included—brazen reversals of opinion made in order to capitalize on changes in the political situation; promises made to one group which are basically incompatible with promises made to other groups are found throughout. And intellectual dishonesty permeates the entire fabric of the President's declared ; philosophy.” The 100 pages of quotations fol- |

or indication which groups of remarks were the basis for the va- | rious charges uttered in the pre- | face. The “pledge to’ the people |
section,” shortest of the booklet, re- } It repro- |
