P). — State highway patrolmen closed in on Floyd Hamilton, 20-year-old bad man today, then lost him in a gun battle in which 2 bullet from the gun of the desperado shattered the windshield of a squad car Last night at Dallas, three men robbed station of Joe Lieto. He said he “recognized cne of them as Hamilton, ah old classmate in a Dallas grade school. “Joe, I hate to do this, but I have to have some money,” Mr. Lieto quoted Hamilton as saying. The three took $12.75, then left. Later, three men resembling Hamilton and his companions, robbed Mrs. E. M. Collins’ grocery store of $55.

WASHINGTON, July 21 (U.P). — Works Progress Administrator Harry 1. Hopkins has issued an executive order giving enrollees who

Officials said Mr. Hopkins had allowed state administrators to leave for National Guard duty at their discretion.
