KANSAS CITY, Mo, July 21 (U. P.)—The sneezy, watery-eyed | victims of hay fever today asked the WPA to do something about their plight. Dr. D. M. Nigro, president of the | Heart of America Hay Fever Club, said he had written WPA directors | in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Ne- | braska, Iowa and Colorado asking | them té direct workers to pull up ragweeds “The ragweed is just about ready to burst forth in its glory as the hated symbol of hay fever bondage,” said Dr. Nigro. “This part of | the country suffers the most because our ragweeds are the chief pollendispensers. “Given a good wind, the pollen will travel 30 miles to land on the | mucous membranes of our noses to set us off in a fit of sneezing.” The Heart of America Hay Fever Club was organized last summer | with public-spirited nonsufferers Joining with victims of the plague A convention of the organization is planned for this summer, probably at Duluth, Minn.
