At least 460 in the prefecture of Hyogo were missing. All city reservoirs were holding, but pipes were clogged and the water supply came from outside sources | pumped in from nearby wells. There was no water shortage. The official death toll from the storms and floods throughout the nation was more than 700 as rescue workers combed devastated areas for missing arson.
