PUTNAM NAMES SEVEN ON NEW BUTLER BOARD
4 Reappointed to Posts; University’s Library Receives Gifts.
Members of the Butler University administrative council for the 193839 school year were announced by | President James W. Putnam today. | Those reappointed were Dean Gino A. Ratti, head of the college of liberal arts and sciences; Dean Frederick D. Kershner of the college of religion: William L. Richardson, dean of the college of educaticn, and Henry L. Bruner, director of the division of graduate instruction. Faculty members named to the council were Prof. Amos B. Carlile, education; Dr. Allegra Stewart and Prof. Clvde L. Clark, college of liberal arts. All colleges of the university are represented on the council.
43 Volumes Given by Mary Vance Trent
Several important gifts have heen made to the Rutler University library during the past months, according to an announcement by Miss Fave Cantrell, acting library head Forty-three volumes were given by Mary Vance Trent in memory of her father. Miss Anna Hasselman has given the department thirtythree Century and Scribner's magazines, Six historical volumes were given to the school by Emmett Rice, Shortridge High School assistant principal A gift of 137 editions of rare old magazines was made by Dr. Henry L.. Bruner, head of the graduate division of instruction. Twenty-four books were presented by the Purchasing Agents Association of Indianapolis to be used as reference material for a course taught by Dwight Ritter for purchasing agents
COUNTY TO SEEK INFIRMARY FUNDS
Asks State Aid as Moving of Patients Is Delayed.
County Commissioners were to appeal to State officials today for aid in financing the County Infirmary on Tibbs Ave. for the remainder of the vear. Under a 1937 law, the County was to deed the Tibbs Ave. property over to the State in return for transferring the County's mental patients from Julietta Hospital to State hospitals The transfer was to have been made by July out neither the State nor th ounty was able to complete arrangements County Commissioners were transfer infirmary patients to J etta, but delay in their building program prevented the change on time The commissioners now have no more funds in their budget to the infirmary the rest of
$463,955 SET ASIDE FOR TENANT LOANS Indiana tenant farmers who want to buy ti own farms will be able to borrow 8463955 from the Government in the next 12 months to do it, according to the Farm Security Administration office here. That sum has been allotted to Indiana for tenant farm purchase loans, R. C 1th, local regional manager, said. The money will be available for loans in six counties, to be selected by the Department of Agriculture. Last year’s allotment was $185582 for White, Whitley, Favette and Gibson Counties, he said
