Huge Throng Expected at
Elwood for Festival; Will
Select Queen.
Times Special ELLWOOD, June 24 —Between 75,000 and 100.000 visitors are expected to throng Elwood, the hub of the tomato industry, for Indiana’s second annual Tomato Festival July 27 U. 8. Senator James J. Davis of Pennsvivania, who served as Secretary of Labor under three Presidents, will deliver the principal afternoon address at the Callaway Park Senator Davis formerly lived In Elwood. There will be a public reception in his honor at 8 p. m. at the Moose lodge home. He is a national Director General of the Loyal Order of Moose. His address at the park will be
preceded by the coronation of the
festival queen by Roscoe Fraser, horticulture specialist University Officials of the Indiana Association, Indiana Farm Bureau and Purdue University, which are i

Winners to Travel The Central District will be held at Franklin, July 7. The committee consists of Paul Wolff, Frank Craven and Kenboth of Franklin

Gwinville; neth Rider, Vincennes will Southern District elimination on July 8. Members of the committee includ Noble Richey, Franklin, chairman; Ollie Gillratt, Vincennes, and Clarence Turmail, Vallonia First, second and third place winners in each of the three districts will compete in the finals at Elwood July 12. The winner will reign as queen while the second and third winners will serve as her ladies-in-waiting and the other six contestants will compose her court-of-honor On July 20 the queen, her ladies-in-waiting and her court-of-honor will be entertained at a big reception and dinner at the Morrison Hotel in Chic ago. The following day the queen and her chaperon will fly to cen gre J D C., where she will present President Franklin D. Roosevelt with a basket of matoes.
